Lagos, Nigeria – Celebrated Nigerian visual artist Chidozie Oliver Maduka is set to showcase a new body of work in his upcoming private solo exhibition, Atumatu Madu Lara Niyi (Drenched Dreams), showing from May 10th to 24th, 2023 at The Art Place Studio, Ikeja.

Known for his emotive style and narrative-driven compositions, Chidozie invites guests into a contemplative space where culture, memory, and identity converge. This new series, whose Igbo title translates as “The Thoughts That Live in People,” captures the emotional complexity of human aspirations and the unseen weight of heritage and dreams that linger within us.

Curated as an exclusive experience, this private exhibition will be open, offering collectors, curators, and select guests a focused encounter with the artist’s evolving creative language. The works speak of longing, silence, resilience and reflect a matured vision that continues to position Maduka as a defining voice in contemporary African art.

Drenched Dreams marks a reflective, bold step in the artist’s journey, cementing his reputation as one who translates lived experience into textured, thought-provoking art.
