Erica Nlewedim may have hosted Green October, but she certainly did not dress like she came to blend into the background.

The actress and media personality arrived at the Oriental Hotel in a striking white Glamgirl by Sefiya gown that traded the expected green for head-to-toe pearl glamour.

The fitted bodice was covered in pearls of different sizes, creating a sculpted effect around the waist before giving way to long strands that draped across the hips. An off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline softened the heavily embellished top, while crystal fringe earrings added another layer of sparkle.

Then, just below the knees, the dress completely changed character.

The pearl-covered silhouette exploded into a voluminous skirt of white feathers and petal-like textures, creating a dramatic mermaid shape that extended into a long train. The contrast between the structured shine of the pearls and the softness of the feathers gave the gown its real personality.

Erica kept the finishing touches polished rather than excessive. A high curled updo, warm glowing makeup, a crystal bracelet and diamond ring allowed the gown to remain the centre of attention.

Photographed by Studio 9 by Tonie, the look had everything a host moment needs — presence, glamour and enough drama to hold attention from across the room.

Green October had plenty of green. Erica brought the pearls.
