Idia Aisien went in the opposite direction from the Green October dress code and somehow made white feel like the right choice.

The presenter arrived at the 2026 event in a custom Adopolra mermaid gown that combined rows of pearls, glass beads and sequins with smooth white satin. The result was less traditional eveningwear and more a glowing piece of fashion sculpture.

The fitted bodice featured a high halter neckline and small keyhole cut-out, with vertical beadwork defining the waist and a line of pearl buttons running down the centre. Loose pearl strands wrapped around her arms, creating an unexpected alternative to conventional sleeves.

Then the silhouette changed completely at the hips. The heavily embellished bodice gave way to a voluminous satin skirt covered in oversized ruffles, with a sculptural rose adding a romantic finish to one side.

Idia kept the accessories restrained, pairing the gown with pearl drop earrings, a statement silver ring and a sleek low ponytail. Soft, luminous makeup completed the polished look.

Photographed by Pelly Giwa, the images capture exactly why the dress works. Against the evening setting of the Oriental Hotel, the pearls catch the light while the white satin gives the entire silhouette an almost luminous quality.

Green may have been the obvious choice for Green October. Idia chose pearls instead and made the detour look intentional.
