Kimberly Jael celebrated Uganda’s 64th Independence Day with a look that carried her national pride from head to toe.

The Miss Universe Uganda 2026 first runner-up marked October 9 in a striking black, yellow and red gown, transforming the colours of the Ugandan flag into an elaborate eveningwear statement.

The black sequinned bodice brought the sparkle, while a wide yellow satin band twisted across her chest and draped off her shoulders, creating a sculptural neckline. Below, a fitted red mermaid skirt gathered at the hips before flowing into a dramatic floor-length train.

But Kimberly did not stop at the dress.

Her makeup carried the patriotic theme further, with black, yellow and red face art outlined in tiny pearls near one eye. Crystal floral earrings, a short natural hairstyle and deep red nails completed the look without distracting from its bold colour story.

What makes the ensemble particularly striking is how the three colours work through different textures. Sequins, satin and delicate beadwork give each section its own character while keeping the overall silhouette cohesive.

For Kimberly, this was more than an Independence Day fashion moment. It was a celebration of Ugandan identity, expressed through glamour, craftsmanship and a little creative drama.
