Denim-on-denim doesn’t have to mean blue from head to toe. Thayour B, affectionately known as the “Queen of Wide Pants,” has a better idea and it starts with a statement sweater vest.

For this look, she layers a printed green vest by YL Collectives over a light-blue denim shirt, paired with high-waisted, wide-leg jeans. The combination feels relaxed and familiar, but the contrast of green against pale blue gives it a fresh twist.

The vest does most of the styling work. Its deep green, sage and white collage-like print adds pattern to the outfit, while the pale-blue trim around the V-neckline picks up the colour of the shirt underneath. It’s a small detail, but it makes the layers feel intentional rather than thrown together.

Then come the jeans — a reminder of why wide-leg denim has become such a defining part of Thayour B’s style. The loose, elongated silhouette and frayed hems keep the outfit casual without losing its shape.

Her footwear takes things in a dressier direction. Pointed green satin pumps, finished with oversized crystal buckles, echo the vest while adding a little sparkle. A light-blue quilted handbag brings the look back to the softer denim palette.

Dark rectangular glasses, delicate jewellery and a sleek bob complete the outfit. Even her green iced drink fits the colour story.

The styling lesson? Let one piece do the talking. A printed vest breaks up matching denim, while shoes in a coordinating shade make the whole outfit feel considered. It’s an easy formula for giving wardrobe basics more personality without making them difficult to wear.

Thayour B has the wide-leg denim covered. The green vest just makes the case for adding a little more colour.
