Competing at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, the world record holder powered through the final in 12.83 seconds, securing her third consecutive African title in the event. Amusan had already set the tone for the final by qualifying fastest through both the heats and semi-finals. In the decisive race, she maintained control from the start, crossing the finish line comfortably ahead of the field despite minor delays caused by technical issues with the timing system.

Speaking after her win, Amusan noted that she was unaware of her official time during the race but emphasized that securing the gold medal was her primary goal.
