In an exclusive interview with Victor Adewole, the visionary behind Vixteau Couture, La Mode Magazine delves into the world of high fashion, luxury design, and the growing global presence of this iconic African fashion brand. Known for its innovative designs and sophisticated tailoring, Vixteau Couture has carved out a significant niche in the fashion world. In this interview, Adewole discusses his design philosophy, global sales distribution, and partnerships with prominent fashion brands across the globe.

La Mode Magazine: Victor, thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us. Let’s start by talking about Vixteau Couture. What is the vision behind the brand, and how do you see it evolving in the coming years?

Victor Adewole: Thank you for having me. Vixteau Couture was born out of a desire to celebrate the blend of African heritage and global luxury fashion. I wanted to create a brand that is not just about clothing, but about telling stories through intricate designs, high craftsmanship, and meaningful cultural expressions. Over the years, the brand has evolved to reflect a fusion of tradition and modernity, balancing rich African fabrics and techniques with the global demand for cutting-edge, high-fashion aesthetics. Looking ahead, I want Vixteau Couture to continue expanding its global presence while staying true to the African roots that inspire it. We aim to redefine luxury by being inclusive and sustainable, while also contributing to the African fashion narrative on a global scale.

La Mode Magazine: You’ve built a truly international reputation for Vixteau Couture. Can you talk about how the brand has grown, and which markets you’re focusing on right now?

Victor Adewole: Yes, the brand has grown significantly in the last few years, and I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished. Vixteau Couture is now stocked in key locations globally, including in Kenya and the USA, where our designs are resonating with consumers who appreciate luxury fashion that tells a story. We’ve also partnered with several esteemed fashion retailers such as Bold in Africa and CID Luxury Boutique. These partnerships have helped us expand our reach and gain recognition in markets that are crucial for us.

The US market, in particular, has been incredibly receptive to our designs, with more clients and fashion influencers looking to incorporate African couture into their wardrobes. In Kenya, we’re seeing a growing appreciation for high-end, bespoke fashion that blends traditional African elements with contemporary design. The interest in African luxury fashion is really growing worldwide, and we want to continue to be at the forefront of that movement.

La Mode Magazine: Tell us more about your partnerships with these notable stores. You mentioned Vivo Kenya, Bold in Africa, CID Luxury Boutique, and Waya Clothing—how have these collaborations supported the growth of Vixteau Couture?

Victor Adewole: These partnerships have been incredibly instrumental in expanding our visibility and distribution. Vivo Kenya has been one of our longest-standing partners, helping introduce Vixteau Couture to the Kenyan luxury market. They share our vision of elevating African fashion, and it’s been amazing to see how our designs have resonated with their clientele.

Bold in Africa is another exciting collaboration for us, as it’s an incredible platform for African fashion brands. Their commitment to promoting African fashion on the global stage aligns perfectly with our ethos, and the exposure we’ve received through them has helped establish Vixteau Couture as a recognized luxury label.

In addition, CID Luxury Boutique has allowed us to showcase our couture collections to a discerning international audience. They’ve built an excellent reputation for curating high-end fashion, and our partnership with them has opened doors to clients across the globe who are seeking exclusive, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Finally, Waya Clothing has been a great partner in promoting Vixteau Couture in select African and global markets. Their platform helps amplify African luxury fashion brands, and we’ve been able to grow our reach through their retail spaces, both online and offline.

La Mode Magazine: It’s exciting to see Vixteau Couture’s reach expanding across the globe. Can you share some insights into your design process and how you’re able to blend African cultural elements with global luxury trends?

Victor Adewole: My design process is deeply inspired by African history, art, and storytelling. I draw from the continent’s rich cultural heritage, traditional textiles, and techniques, but I also incorporate a modern, global aesthetic to create something that feels fresh and relevant. I want every piece to be a conversation between the past and the future, honoring our heritage while embracing the future of fashion.

When designing for a global market, I’m always conscious of the fact that luxury consumers around the world are looking for timeless pieces that can transcend trends. I work closely with my team to create collections that have a strong identity, using fabrics and techniques that are unique to Africa—like Ankara, Kente, and Adire—but blending them with modern cuts, sophisticated tailoring, and luxe embellishments. The key is creating pieces that speak to both African pride and universal elegance.

La Mode Magazine: Looking towards the future, what do you see for Vixteau Couture? What are some exciting projects or developments that your followers can look forward to?

Victor Adewole: The future for Vixteau Couture is incredibly exciting. We’re working on several new collections that will push the boundaries of what African luxury fashion can be. We’re also focusing on sustainability, incorporating eco-friendly materials into our designs while staying true to the high-quality craftsmanship that defines our brand.

We’re also exploring opportunities in customized couture—offering bespoke pieces that cater to the individual tastes of our clients, with a focus on personal expression. Additionally, we’re expanding our digital presence and enhancing our e-commerce platforms to make our collections more accessible globally.

One of the most exciting projects we’re working on is an upcoming collaboration with international fashion icons—something that will take the Vixteau Couture brand to even greater global heights. I can’t say too much just yet, but stay tuned!

La Mode Magazine: That sounds amazing! We’ll definitely be keeping an eye out. Thank you so much for sharing these insights, Victor. It’s clear that Vixteau Couture is on an incredible journey, and we look forward to seeing your brand continue to thrive on the global stage.

Victor Adewole: Thank you so much for your support. It’s an honor to be able to share the story of Vixteau Couture with your readers. I’m excited for what the future holds, and I appreciate everyone who’s been part of this journey with us.
