Bonang Matheba has a new Nigerian fashion favourite, and she has worn it twice.
The South African media personality has turned to Emagine by Bukola for two very different occasions, showing just how much range the Nigerian label can bring to a red-carpet moment.
Her first look came at the Miss South Africa 2024 grand finale, where she wore an ethereal white-and-silver mermaid gown. Sheer panels, intricate beadwork and delicate 3D butterflies gave the dress an almost underwater quality, while a sculptural shoulder detail created the drama expected from a pageant stage.
Fast-forward to her recent L’Oréal Paris appearance, and Bonang was in a completely different mood. This time, she chose a warm-toned hand-beaded dress covered in orange, red and green embroidery, finished with layers of floor-length fringe.
The contrast says a lot about Emagine by Bukola. One look was soft and sculptural; the other was bold, colourful and full of movement.
When Bonang comes back for a third look, we are definitely paying attention.
