There are runway moments — and then there are Akin and Kiky moments.

Lagos Fashion Week 2025 turned into a masterclass in coordinated style when Akin Faminu and Kiky Festus stepped out in LFJ’s “Orient of Africa” collection — a show that also marked the brand’s five-year anniversary. It wasn’t just a fashion moment; it was a celebration of artistry, texture, and connection.

Kiky’s look was pure drama, in the most elegant way possible. Her gown, sculpted in shades of peach and blush pink, was a living piece of architecture — pleats twisting across her torso and unfurling outward like origami in motion. Each fold caught the light just right, a reminder that structure can be sensual when done with intention.

Beside her, Akin reminded everyone that menswear doesn’t play second fiddle anymore. His sheer white trousers paired with a crinkled jacket blurred the line between traditional tailoring and avant-garde ease. A brown patterned panel anchored the look, while a wide-brimmed hat and dark sunglasses sealed his signature edge.

“We were taken on a journey to the ‘Orient of Africa’ with LFJ’s debut menswear collection,” Akin shared, “and of course, I was wearing an off-the-runway piece from this beautiful collection.”

And that’s exactly what this collection felt like — a journey. Orient of Africa was about layers and fluidity, about how fashion can carry both heritage and experimentation without losing balance. Watching Akin and Kiky walk together was like watching two elements in sync — boldness and grace, design and emotion.

If Lagos Fashion Week 2025 has taught us anything so far, it’s this: style speaks loudest when it’s shared. And no one shared it quite like these two.
