If you were captivated by Cillian Murphy’s stunning look at the 2024 Oscars, get ready to see more of his style.

The 47-year-old Oppenheimer star is set to make his debut as a Versace campaign star on April 3. He will be the face of the new Versace Icons global campaign, featuring “key and timeless pieces” from the menswear collection of the same name, the luxury Italian label announced on Wednesday.

Murphy has a strong affinity for Versace designs. The Italian label crafted the classic tuxedo he wore to the Academy Awards. Styled by Rose Forde, Murphy paired the ensemble with a pleated dress shirt, a bow tie, a bespoke Sauvereign brooch, and oxford loafers for a sophisticated and elegant look. This outfit took the spotlight when Murphy won Best Actor for his role in Oppenheimer, a film that also won the coveted Best Picture award of the night.

“I am thrilled that Cillian is joining the Versace family,” said Donatella Versace, the brand’s creative director. “He is a truly exceptional actor and deserves his Oscar win. He is magnetic and mesmerizing in front of a camera, and I loved seeing him bring Versace to life.”

Throughout this awards season, Murphy has showcased his style prowess. At the 2024 SAG Awards, he donned a pinstripe suit with a bow tie by Saint Laurent. However, he has mostly opted for understated ensembles, such as the monochromatic suit he wore to the PGA Awards.

Versace previously appointed Anne Hathaway as the face of its Icons campaign. Similar to the new campaign, the previous launch highlighted the brand’s timeless sartorial storytelling, focusing on designs that transcend trends and can be worn repeatedly throughout one’s life. Hathaway, known for her roles in films like “The Idea of You,” embraced the Versace Icons collection, describing it as “timeless elegance with an edge” and expressing pride in bringing Donatella’s “vision of empowerment” to life.
