Stop what you’re doing—Zambia is in her main character era, and Faith Bwalya is leading the charge with a sash and a smile.

The newly crowned Miss World Zambia 2025 just made actual history as the first woman ever from Zambia to reach the quarterfinals of the Miss World pageant. That’s not a typo. It’s giving legacy. It’s giving “tell your cousins.”

Repping Kitwe and crowned in Lusaka just last month (yes, her crown is still basically fresh out the box), Faith stepped onto the global stage in Telangana, India, and decided, why not break a few records while I’m here?

Faith Bwalya

Now let’s break it down; She’s only 24 years old, She’s the first Zambian to reach the quarterfinals in 72 whole editions of Miss World. Oh, and she’s the only African contestant out of 22 to secure that spot this year

We’re not crying. You’re crying.

But wait—there’s more. Faith didn’t just land there by chance. She snatched her place in the Top 22 by winning the Head-to-Head Challenge for Africa, a continent-wide competition where each region’s queens go up against each other in interviews, presence, and all-round brilliance. And sis delivered.

According to the Miss World organisation (who clearly have good taste this year), “Join us in celebrating our incredible Head to Head Challenge winners, who now advance to the Top 10 in their continental regions at the 72nd Miss World Festival.”

Translation? Faith ate. And she left zero leftovers for the doubters.

Whether she goes all the way or not, Faith’s name is already in the Zambian history books, and honestly? That crown’s been sitting right where it belongs.

Zambia, your girl did it.
