On the fourth anniversary of the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, Vanessa Bryant paid tribute to her late husband and daughter. Sharing a photo on Instagram of Kobe smiling with his arm around Gianna, Vanessa captioned it with two heart emojis. The Los Angeles Lakers also posted the same photo on their Instagram account with the caption “Forever ????.”
On January 26, 2020, Kobe, Gianna, and seven others lost their lives in a helicopter crash near Calabasas, California. The group was traveling to a basketball tournament when the accident occurred. The investigation indicated pilot error as the likely cause.
For the anniversary, Vanessa shared a heartfelt note from one of Gianna’s best friends in 2021, expressing the ongoing pain and disbelief over the tragedy. Vanessa, who has been open about the unimaginable pain, shared her commitment to moving forward for the sake of her surviving daughters, Natalia, Bianka, and Capri.
In addition to commemorating Kobe and Gianna, Vanessa leads the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at supporting underserved child athletes. She expressed her determination to make her late family members proud through her continued efforts.
