The Simply Silk Collection was unveiled at the Warri Fashion Lifestyle Festival recently. The event which was held between the 22nd of April and 26th of April 2024 was an attempt by several fashion designers, models, and enthusiasts to have a non-stop fashion show for 100 hours. This was meant to help break the previous Guinness World Record for The Longest Non-stop Fashion Show. The event had numerous Fashion designers such as the Elegant Attire brand which showcased the Simply Silk Collection. The Elegant Attire brand was led to the epic fashion show by Adeola Olarinde, the Founder, Creative director and Lead designer. Her excellent illustration expertise was written all over the collection that wowed the audience at the fashion festival.

Silk is a fabric that is most appreciated for its soft, smooth texture. It is considered one of the best fabrics for the skin and it is mostly associated with wealth. The Simply Silk Collection had styles that were quite simple, in fact, a little too simple to be mistaken for plain pyjamas. The models were graceful, and their accessories brought more life to what could have been a quite boring clothing experience. This is not to mean that all the designs in the collection were misses, there were quite a few hits, but these were either in terms of colours or in terms of patterns and designs on the clothes itself. For example, a few of the clothes had sparse designs on the lower side, the breast pockets and around the sleeves. One of the clothes which was black had cool fabric that looked like an embossed fabric that was more cotton material than silk. The design on the fabric looked stylish, cool, and quite impressive thus making the cloth to be worth the look it would inspire for whoever gets to buy and own it.

The trousers in this collection were made with wide legs which can somehow be regarded as being complimentary to the shirts. The collection could do with more shorts than trousers though as we think that such simple styles of shirts are better suited for intimate get-togethers than professional events. The styles are fit for religious events too as the collection has both long and short sleeves for whatever the preferences of the wearer may be. Also, there could have been options for shorts or knee-length shorts to complement the various clothes in the collection.

The collection had colours like White, Black, Grey, Yellow, Sky Blue, Green, Pink, and Cream. The Yellow and a few of the shades of Blue that were part of the clothes which one could say seemed to be worth the hype. The Blacks were not that bad especially a specific black fabric which looked striking and was well embodied by the model that had it on during the unveiling.

Summarily, there are mixed feelings about this collection as it almost did not live up to expectations of what silk is notoriously known for – Elegance, Class, and Affluence. Nonetheless, the Elegant Attire team delivered a masterpiece with this collection and we can’t wait to witness the brand’s next collection
