Funke Akindele’s The Four Is Bringing Friendship, Drama and Nigerian Style to Cinema

Funke Akindele is giving fans their first real taste of her next big-screen project.

Funke Akindele

The filmmaker and actress has unveiled the first images from The Four: No One Fights Alone, ahead of its worldwide cinema release on December 11, 2026.

Starring Akindele alongside Bisola Aiyeola, Chioma Akpotha, Waje and an impressive ensemble cast, the film follows Esosa and three fiercely loyal women whose friendship and devotion are tested when the stakes become painfully personal.

From tense village confrontations to sleek boardrooms and shadowy jailhouse scenes, the first stills hint at a story that moves between very different worlds.

And the fashion isn’t just there for decoration.

The film incorporates Adire, Nigeria’s iconic resist-dyed textile, into its costume direction, giving the visuals a strong cultural identity while reflecting the different environments the characters move through.

Produced by Funke Akindele Network (FAAN TV) and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, The Four brings together a seriously stacked cast, including Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu, Uzor Arukwe, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Wunmi Toriola and Chioma Akpotha, among others.

If these first images are anything to go by, Funke Akindele isn’t coming to the cinema quietly.

The Four arrives December 11.
