The actress stepped onto the premiere scene in a structured royal blue column gown that instantly commanded attention. Inspired by Northern Nigerian royal dressing, the look balanced modesty, glamour, and architectural tailoring in a way that felt both traditional and unmistakably red-carpet ready.

Sharing photos of the outfit on Instagram, Omowunmi playfully wrote:

“Serving Muslimah elegance because Eid came a little early for the OKANJUWA premiere. Dresscode is Eid-MetGala; now my team can’t decide whether I look more like a Khadijah or a Zareema. Which team are you on?”

The gown itself featured a sleek floor-length silhouette crafted from richly textured fabric that held its shape beautifully. A modest boat neckline paired with a sheer illusion panel across the collarbone added softness, while delicate silver crystal embellishments traced the neckline with subtle sparkle. Vertical lines of beadwork extended down the bodice, creating a sharp, elongated structure that enhanced the clean column shape of the dress.

One of the standout details came through the sleeves. Rather than keeping them simple, the design introduced sculptural petal-inspired ruffles around the forearms, adding volume and drama without disrupting the elegance of the silhouette.

To fully embrace the Northern-inspired aesthetic, Omowunmi layered the look with a flowing chiffon veil attached to her headpiece. The sheer cape-like drape cascaded down her back effortlessly, creating movement and adding a soft, regal finish to the structured gown.

Her styling choices elevated the entire presentation. Stacked silver bracelets, bold rings, statement drop earrings, and a bright pink lip added contrast and personality to the monochromatic blue palette. Meanwhile, the earthy photoshoot backdrop featuring woven baskets and Hausa-inspired architectural motifs created the perfect visual contrast against the richness of the royal blue fabric.

Whether you are firmly Team Khadijah or Team Zareema, one thing is certain: Omowunmi Dada understood the assignment completely.
