Serena and Venus Williams are officially returning to Wimbledon 2026 after receiving a wildcard entry into the women’s doubles draw. The announcement marks a major moment for tennis, bringing one of the sport’s most successful partnerships back to the All England Club.

The Williams sisters have built one of the most dominant doubles legacies in tennis history, with 14 Grand Slam titles as a pair, including six Wimbledon championships. Their connection to SW19 runs deep, with their earliest Wimbledon doubles victories in 2000 and 2002 also coming through wildcard entries, making this latest return a full-circle moment.

Their achievements extend beyond Grand Slam success, with a shared Olympic gold medal at the 2012 London Games further cementing their status as one of the greatest sporting duos of all time. Their most recent Wimbledon doubles title came in 2016, marking nearly a decade since their last triumph on the grass courts.

The sisters last competed together at the 2022 US Open before Serena Williams stepped away from professional tennis, while Venus Williams has continued to participate selectively on tour. Their reunion at Wimbledon 2026 signals a highly anticipated return to competitive doubles at one of the sport’s most prestigious stages.

With the tournament set to begin on June 29, attention now turns to the doubles draw, where the Williams sisters will once again take center stage. A potential seventh Wimbledon doubles title would not only extend their record but also make them the oldest Grand Slam-winning doubles partnership in history.
